Winnie-the-Pooh, commonly shortened to Pooh and once referred to as Edward Bear, is a fictional bear created by A. A. Milne. He appears in the books Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Milne also included several poems about Winnie-the-Pooh in the children’s poetry books When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six. All four volumes were illustrated by E. H. Shepard.

Piglet is a fictional character from A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh books. Piglet is a small pig who is the best friend of Winnie-the-Pooh. Despite the fact that he is a "Very Small Animal" with a generally timid disposition, he often conquers his fears and seems to want to be brave. Piglet is male although this has been debated.
