The Qingming Festival, meaning Clear and Bright Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival on the 104th day after the winter solstice (or the 15th day from the Spring Equinox), usually occurring around April 5 of the Gregorian calendar. Every leap year, Qing Ming is on April 4. Astronomically, it is also a solar term. In solar terms, the Qingming festival is on the 1st day of the 5th solar term, which is also named Qingming. Its name denotes a time for people to go outside and enjoy the greenery of springtime, and also to tend to the graves of departed ones. It is an official public holiday in the Republic of China, as well as in Hong Kong and Macau though not in the People's Republic of China.

Name: The 50th Anniversary of National Tsing Hua University
TPO Open Date: 2006 April 30th (95.4.30) (10:00-16:00)

National Tsing Hua University is a university in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. It is one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan, with strong reputations in science and engineering, especially computer science and electrical engineering. Nearby is Hsinchu Science Park, the heart of the computer industry in Taiwan. The university and its neighbor National Chiao Tung University have been competing with each other on many fronts since the inception of both schools. This rivalry is perhaps best exemplified by the annual Mei-Chu Tournament, a series of sports and games competitions, held in March. It is said the difference between NTHU and next door neighbor rival is that NTHU is like Athens while NCTU is like Sparta.
